Marine Electrical Work Isn't Regular Electrical Work

Here's something most homeowners learn the hard way, regular electricians don't understand marine environments. Saltwater, constant moisture, marine codes, and the unique requirements of docks and boat lifts are completely different from standard residential electrical work. You need someone who actually specializes in this stuff, not someone who's going to figure it out as they go.

We're licensed marine electricians serving Southwest Florida waterfront properties. We install, repair, and maintain all electrical systems for docks, boat lifts, underwater lighting, landscape lighting, and everything else that makes your waterfront property safe, functional, and enjoyable. And we do it right the first time, with proper marine grade components and code compliant installations.

Snook & Fishing Lighting (Underwater LED Systems)

If you fish or just enjoy watching marine life at night, underwater dock lights are a game changer. Snook, tarpon, redfish, and all kinds of baitfish are attracted to these lights, creating your own private fishing spot right at your dock. It's also incredibly cool just to sit out there at night and watch the water come alive with activity.

What We Install: We specialize in underwater LED lighting systems specifically designed for attracting fish and illuminating the water around your dock. These aren't just any lights, they're marine grade systems built to handle saltwater, boat traffic, and constant submersion.

Modern LED underwater lights come in different colors (green and blue are most popular for attracting fish), run cool so they don't overheat, use minimal electricity compared to old halogen systems, and last years without maintenance. We position lights strategically around your dock for maximum effect and install them properly so they actually stay in place and keep working.

Why Get Fishing Lights: Beyond the obvious fishing benefits, these lights increase safety by illuminating the water around your dock at night, deter marine growth on dock pilings (the lights actually help keep them cleaner), create an amazing ambiance for entertaining, and add serious curb appeal to your waterfront property. Plus, kids and guests are absolutely fascinated watching all the marine life that shows up.

Low Voltage Dock Lighting

Your dock needs proper lighting for safety and usability at night. Low voltage systems (typically 12V or 24V) are perfect for dock applications because they're safer around water, more energy efficient, easier to maintain, and code compliant for marine environments.

We design and install complete dock lighting systems including post lights for walkways, step lights for safety, under rail lighting for subtle illumination, piling cap lights that look great and mark your dock location, and pathway lighting to guide you safely from your property to the dock.

Smart Lighting Options: We can set up your dock lights with timers so they turn on automatically at dusk, photocell sensors that adjust based on ambient light, dimming controls for setting the mood, and even smart home integration if you want to control everything from your phone.

All wiring is run properly through conduit, all connections are waterproof and marine rated, and everything is installed to pass inspection. We don't do shortcuts that work for six months and then fail. We do it right so it lasts.

Landscape Lighting for Waterfront Properties

The path from your house to your dock deserves proper lighting too. Landscape lighting makes your waterfront property safer, more usable at night, and significantly more attractive. We design and install comprehensive landscape lighting systems that highlight your property's best features while providing functional illumination.

What We Light: Pathways to your dock, trees and tropical landscaping, seawalls and hardscaping, stairs and elevation changes, property boundaries, and architectural features of your home that face the water.

We use low voltage LED systems that are energy efficient, long lasting, and designed specifically for Florida's humid, salty coastal environment. These aren't Home Depot landscape lights that corrode and fail in six months. These are professional grade fixtures built to last in our conditions.

Boat Lift Panel Installation & Configuration

Your boat lift runs on electricity, and that means you need a properly installed electrical panel with the right capacity, proper circuit protection, GFCI protection (required by code), weatherproof enclosure, correct voltage for your specific lift, and proper grounding.

We install and configure boat lift electrical panels for all major lift brands. This isn't plug and play, each lift has specific electrical requirements and must be wired correctly for safe operation. We make sure your panel is properly sized, correctly installed, passes inspection, and provides reliable power to your lift.

Panel Upgrades: Got an old lift panel that's outdated or not working right? We upgrade old panels to modern systems with better protection, more reliable components, and proper safety features. Many older panels don't meet current code and should be replaced before they fail or cause problems.

Limit Switch Setting & Configuration

Limit switches are the safety devices that tell your boat lift when to stop lifting and lowering. If they're not set correctly, your lift can overtravel, which damages the lift, risks dropping your boat, creates dangerous situations, and voids warranties on lift equipment.

When You Need Limit Switch Service: After any lift repairs or cable replacement, when your lift is traveling too far up or down, if you hear grinding or excessive noise at the end of travel, after adding or removing a boat, or anytime your lift isn't stopping where it should.

We properly set and configure limit switches for all lift types. This involves adjusting upper and lower travel limits, setting safety overload points, calibrating for your specific boat weight and size, testing under actual operating conditions, and documenting settings for future reference.

This is precision work that requires understanding how the specific lift system operates. We've configured limit switches on hundreds of lifts and know exactly what each system needs.

GEM Remote and Dolphin System Services

GEM (Golden Electrical Manufacturing) and Dolphin are two of the most popular boat lift control systems. If you have one of these systems, you know how convenient wireless control is, but you also know they can be finicky and sometimes need professional service.

GEM Remote Systems: We install, program, and troubleshoot all GEM remote control systems. This includes wireless key fob remotes, wall mounted controls, smartphone app integration, and multi lift control setups. When your GEM remote stops working or loses programming, we get it fixed and functioning properly again.

Dolphin Systems: Dolphin systems are known for reliability but still need proper installation and occasional service. We handle Dolphin receiver installation and programming, remote pairing and syncing, system troubleshooting and repairs, and upgrades to newer Dolphin components.

Common issues we fix include remotes that stopped working, systems that respond intermittently, range problems where remotes only work when you're really close, and systems that randomly activate or don't respond at all. Usually these are programming issues, antenna problems, or receiver failures, all of which we can diagnose and fix.

Complete Boat Lift Electrical Maintenance

Beyond just the panel and controls, boat lifts have various electrical components that need proper maintenance including motors and gear boxes with electrical connections, control switches and relays, wiring that's exposed to weather and saltwater, GFCI outlets and circuit protection, and limit switches and safety systems.

We provide comprehensive boat lift electrical service to keep everything running safely and reliably. This includes inspecting all electrical components, testing safety systems, checking for corrosion or damage, verifying proper operation, and replacing any worn or failing parts before they cause breakdowns.

Safety and Code Compliance

Marine electrical work has strict code requirements for good reason, electricity and water are a dangerous combination. Everything we install meets or exceeds National Electrical Code requirements for marine applications, Florida Building Code standards, local municipality requirements, and manufacturer specifications for equipment.

We use proper GFCI protection on all circuits, marine grade waterproof components, correct wire types and conduit for wet locations, proper grounding and bonding, and appropriate circuit protection. All work is done by licensed electricians and passes inspection every time.

Don't trust marine electrical work to unlicensed handymen or regular electricians who don't understand marine requirements. The risk isn't worth the small amount you might save. Improper marine electrical installations can cause fires, electrocution, and damage to expensive equipment.

Troubleshooting and Repairs

Boat lift not working? Dock lights flickering? Remote stopped responding? We troubleshoot and repair all marine electrical issues. Most problems come down to corroded connections, failed components, improper settings, or damage from storms or saltwater exposure.

We diagnose the actual problem (not just guess and replace parts), fix it properly with the right components, test everything to make sure it's working correctly, and explain what went wrong so you understand what happened.

New Construction and Renovations

Building a new dock or doing major renovations? We design and install complete electrical systems from scratch. This includes determining power requirements, designing circuit layouts, running proper conduit and wiring, installing panels and outlets, setting up lighting systems, and coordinating with other contractors.

Getting the electrical right from the beginning is crucial. Running new circuits after a dock is built is expensive and difficult. We work with you during planning to make sure all electrical needs are addressed before construction starts.
